Wanda Matthews, President
Wanda Matthews has served on various PTA/PTSO boards throughout the elementary, middle and high school matriculation of her children. She is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University, married and a mother of 4. Three of her children attend Wise High School. Her eldest daughter is a graduate of Suitland High School. Her primary purpose for working so diligently in the school system is to help foster educational advancement for the children in the county. She wants our school system to be a GREAT place to WORK and an EXCEPTIONAL place to LEARN.

Prince George’s County resident for 40+ years. She has supported school activities and secondary and high school PTAs. She believes in public school systems. She is the parent of an 11th Grade honor student and two public school graduates. She is a student advocate who believes the students need to have a voice and we need to be concerned about their concerns.
She is willing to serve and support.

Tanya Hill, Parliamentarian
Tanya Hill has served on various PTA/PTSA Executive Boards from elementary through high school. Her son attends Wise High School and her daughter recently started her first year of college at Prince George’s Community College. Ms. Hill is currently President of the Villages of Camp Springs Civic Association and the recipient of the Prince George’s County Civic Federation 2007 Award for Outstanding Citizenship. Ms. Hill believes reading can take you anywhere you want to go and education is the key to life.

Married mother of 2 children, Samuel, 25 and Kayla 14. She has lived in Maryland for 6 years and works in the Health Care Management industry. She is very active and enjoys being involved with children. She is also very active in her Church.

Carrie Sumler, Membership Committee
Mother of 4 children who have all attended or currently attend a Prince Georges County Public School. She has been a member of the Wise PTSA/PTSO since the school opened. She has worked with the Membership and Uniform Committees for the past two years. She makes a commitment to be a part of the PTSO, this is as important to her as other activities that she is involved with, because of the impact it can have on her children, their education and their future.
Patrice Gross, Membership Committee
Financial Management Analyst with the FDIC and has over 20 years of accounting experience with the Federal Government. She has a senior at Wise High. She has served as Treasurer at both elementary & high school levels for Prince George’s County Schools. For the past two years she has held the position of Treasurer for Wise High School PTSA.
Hakeem P. Fahm, Webmaster
Hakeem P. Fahm has served on various non-profit organization boards as Technology Liason, Webmaster, and Public Relations Officer. He is married and has four children attending different public schools in the county. He graduateted from Ohio University and the University of the District of Columbia. Presently, he is the acting Director of Information Technology at the University of the District of Columbia, Washington DC.
Tracye Funn, POP/TOP Incentive Program
Ms. Funn has been an active agent for education serving with several PTA organizations since her son entered the Prince George’s Public School System in 2000. She served in leadership capacities at Francis T. Evans E.S. as President, Vice President, Delegate, and Chair of the Legislative Committee and was awarded as an Honorary Life Member of the MD State PTA. While her son attended Stephen Decatur M.S., she also served as President, Vice President, Delegate and Membership Chair helping to double the number of new members through the Parents On Point (POP) and Teachers on Point (TOP) incentive and recognition programs. Additionally, she won a successful bid as Vice President for Leadership of the Council for Prince George’s County PTA just prior to the organization’s termination by the MD State PTA.
Ms. Funn is a long standing member of the Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce, having served as the first Afro-American female Chair of the Board of Directors. Other leadership roles in the county and throughout the metropolitan area include the Chairman of the Washington Metropolitan Council of Government’s Clean Air Partners Board of Directors, Citizen’s Concerned for a Cleaner County, Global Developmental Services for Youth – President of the Guardians Auxiliary, Past President of the Prince George’s Public Relations Association, active member of the Dr. Henry Wise H.S. PTSO, Andrews Air Force Base Honorary Commanders, NAACP Honorary Life Member and a host of other business, community and professional organizations.
